Ahura Mazda in Mythology

In Zoroastrian mythology, Ahura Mazda is said to have created the world out of love and goodness. He created six other gods known as Amesha Spentas (“Bounteous Immortals”) to help him rule over creation. These gods are associated with different aspects of life such as wisdom, truth, justice, health, fertility, and protection. Together they form a pantheon known as the “Holy Immortals”.

Ahura Mazda is also said to have created two spirits: Spenta Mainyu (the spirit of good) and Angra Mainyu (the spirit of evil). According to Zoroastrian beliefs, these two spirits are constantly at war with each other for control over humanity. It is believed that if humans choose to follow Spenta Mainyu they will be rewarded with eternal bliss in paradise after death.
