Anastasia is a female name of Greek origin, derived from the Greek word “anastasis” which means “resurrection”. It is also associated with the Greek goddess of resurrection, Anastasia. The name has been popularized by the Russian princess Anastasia Romanov, who was believed to have survived the execution of her family in 1918.
